It’s also my Mom’s birthday. (HBD, Mom!) 🥳

So, you know when everything in your business seems perfect, like the God/Universe/Spirit is aligning in your favor.

And then one day, you log into Facebook and you see it, and your heart drops…

This is what happened to my client a few months back.

Here’s what happened… My client Miriam had launched her business mastermind. She filled the spots pretty quickly – and she was thrilled.🎉

Her mastermind included group calls and 1-on-1 Voxer support for each client.📱

But, one day, as she was sitting in front of her laptop, her heart just sank. She saw a post by one of her mastermind members.

A mastermind member was publicly sharing details about another member’s business discussed on a group call 2 days ago. Aaaaaak!

This was confidential information, the kind of stuff that was supposed to stay within the safe confines of their mastermind group.

Panic set in, and Miriam reached out right away.

Miriam had been so sure that having her Mastermind clients verbally agree that “what’s said in the mastermind stays in the mastermind.”

But now, faced with this breach of trust, she wasn’t so sure.

I had to break it to her gently, though it was a tough pill to swallow 💊:
Trust alone isn’t enough.

You can’t simply rely on everyone to keep confidentiality in a group setting.

To truly protect yourself—and your clients—you need rock-solid language in your legal terms for a mastermind or hybrid program.

This means spelling out how confidentiality works in the group so everyone’s on the same page.

Otherwise, confidentiality slip-ups could leave you exposed to a breach of privacy claim – which isn’t fun. (And, yes, it does happen.)
