Hosting a free workshop? Don’t skip this…
Free workshops are such a beautiful way to connect, share your gifts, and naturally invite new clients into your world.
(I love offering them!)
Even though your workshop is free, you still need legal protection to disclaim your liability so people don’t think you’re giving personalized advice in a free workshop.
Whether your workshop is online or in person, here are 3 simple Legal Love™ Tips:

1. Start with a Loving Disclaimer.
At the very beginning of your workshop, take a moment to share a short, heartfelt disclaimer.
This is where you let people know:
- You’re providing educational information
- You’re not giving medical, legal, or personalized advice
It doesn’t have to feel stiff or scary. In fact, it can feel really grounding and create clarity about your role – for you and for them.
Use my DIY Mini-Disclaimer. It gives you just the right wording.
👉 Think of it as setting the energetic and practical set-point for your time together.
2. Add a Mini-Disclaimer to your opt-In page.
Before people even sign up, they should see a simple disclaimer on your registration page.
Why?
Because it creates clarity from the start.
👉 It lets your audience know what they’re saying “yes” to – and what they’re not. Clarity builds trust – and protects you at the same time.
(Yep, you can use the same DIY Mini-Disclaimer you used for #1 above!)
3. Have a Privacy Policy on your website.
This one is a must.
If you’re collecting names, emails, or any personal info (even just for a free workshop), you need a Privacy Policy on your website.
This tells your visitors:
- What information you collect
- How you use it
- How you protect it
(It is GDPR compliant, which is important legally around the world and required for running social media ads.)
👉 It’s a foundational legal step that builds trust with your website visitors and your integrity. That’s why I align it with the heart chakra. 💚
When you have these 3 steps done, you can exhale knowing you are supported – practically and energetically.
Then you get to focus on showing up, serving, and sharing your gifts! 💫
