She had used ChatGPT to create a release for her Overnight Retreat in Bali.
She was excited to have a nearly ready-to-go legal document, but she wanted me to “just take a look.”
When she sent it to me, I almost fell off of my chair with how poorly drafted it was. 🪑
I had to break it to her – using AI tools like ChatGPT to create legal docs is a BIG mistake. Like HUGE! (cue Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman). 👠
AI makes things so much easier so it makes sense why people want to use it for just about everything.
But in Anna’s case, she had no idea that ChatGPT didn’t include nearly enough language to protect her when offering a multi-day overnight retreat agreement in another country across the world. Two sentences won’t cut it.
Jumping in with both feet and using AI to write your legal documents is downright dangerous.
It’s no different than having LegalZoom or some other random online legal service write you a document. They don’t know how to include the DETAILS which can get you in trouble….
Like the fact you’re not liable for any excursions you take guests on like a private boat tour. 🛥️
And that they have to disclose allergies or sensitivities to you BEFORE the Retreat so your Balinese lunch of Nasi Campur and tofu doesn’t send anyone into anaphylaxis. 🍛
