Avoid this copycatting snafu 🐈‍

One of my clients, Hema, a business coach, is having stellar success on TikTok.📲

She’s created engaging and down-to-earth videos, and before long she reached 100,000 followers!

She was excited about her success and so were others. They DMed her “How did you do it?”

She realized she could share her wisdom with others, so she created a “TikToks Made Easy” course that included a 1-on-1 TikTok account assessment call with her.

And she was shocked that so many people flocked to her to learn how to maximize their TikTok success.

They LOVED supporting and brainstorming with each other in the group forum.

Until one day Hema’s client (Let’s call them “Client A”) reached out…because another of Hema’s clients (“Client B”) had COPIED Client A’s exact video content word-for-word!

Client A was understandably upset and wanted Hema to “do something”.😔

But, unfortunately, Hema’s client contract for her course didn’t include any language about what happens if her clients copy/steal/take other clients’ work.

She had never even thought about that happening.

She reached out to me asking what to do.

And I had to tell her that she was in a legal pickle.🥒

Blech.

I don’t want you to make the same mistake Hema did.

Know this… When you offer a hybrid, combo or small group mastermind that includes BOTH group AND individual work, you need to have legal language for:

❤️ confidentiality… so you’re not liable if a group member shares others’ info.

❤️ content… so you’re not at fault if a group member steals someone else’s work.

❤️ calls… so you’re not blamed for recording or sharing call content as testimonials.

❤️ and more!

And in case you’re wondering, no, your 1-on-1 Client Agreement doesn’t include this language.
