The other day, Lara – a super-smart MD – reached out to me because she was at a crossroads.

Lara’s been helping her diabetic patients lower their A1C in her medical practice and wanted to start working with people in other states, even though she’s not licensed in them.

So she hired a business coach.

Her business coach suggested she start calling herself a “Diabetes Coach” and working with people worldwide.

She was excited because it felt aligned with her expertise…

But, she didn’t know that it was risky to call herself a “Diabetes Coach.” 🔥

Lara had NO idea that she couldn’t just call herself a “Diabetes Coach” in her medical practice and work with people everywhere.

  • Have you done training as a coach (outside of the practice of medicine)?

2. How do you want to work 1-on-1?

  • Do you prefer virtual telehealth or in-person appointments as a doctor?
  • Do you want to work with people everywhere as a coach?
  • Do you want to offer lab testing, maybe through Evexia or Rupa Health?
  • What about supplements – thinking of using Fullscript for that?

3. What lights you up?

  • Are you really passionate about diabetes in particular?
  • Do you want to be known as a world-renowned medical expert about diabetes?
  • Or do you care more about helping people everywhere understand how to balance their blood sugar?

4. What title is important to you?

  • How important is it to you to be known as a “doctor”?
  • Are you comfortable with the title of “coach”?
  • How do you want to position yourself in the marketplace?

See why it’s not as simple as “just creating a niche”, slapping “coach” after your name, and calling it a day?

Lara, like many of you, wanted to be sure she was doing things the right way, without risking her medical license.
