If you provide in-person services to your clients or customers,
it’s understandable to be nervous about opening your doors during the coronavirus pandemic. You don’t want your clients to blame you if they contract the coronavirus.
This is a special COVID-19 release & waiver for services for your clients and customers to sign as you resume services with them.
what is a COVID-19 release & waiver for services?
Your COVID-19 Release and Waiver for Services is a written waiver for your clients to sign as a result of the coronavirus pandemic as you resume your services with your clients. Note that this document is for business owners who provide services (it doesn’t cover products).
This document is like a Disclaimer. It’s not a contract that covers how much your services cost or whether you give refunds – that’s what you use a Client Agreement for.
Rather, this is a written document that your client or customer signs and gives back to you BEFORE or at the VERY START of your services to show they agree to your policies – especially relating to COVID-19 right now.
You may already have had your clients sign a Release or Waiver in the past – or you may not have ever used a Release and Waiver with your clients in your life. This document is designed to stand alone – which means it’s not just an addendum or addition to your existing Waiver. It’s a full document in and of itself.
It includes more language to protect you if your client has a health problem while receiving your services or if you need to call 911 or contact a family member they have listed as an Emergency Contact.
A COVID-19 Release & Waiver for Services helps you feel:
Confident & Empowered – to rock your business and open your doors again knowing that you’re getting extra consent from your clients and customers to provide your services to them.
Safe, secure, and grounded – that are associated with the root chakra.
why do you need it?
You need it to give you extra protection and comfort that you are getting written consent from your client or customer that they’re voluntarily participating in your services and they are aware that they could be exposed to risks – including the risk of contracting COVID-19 or ANY other illness, disease or condition, frankly.
You’ll use this form as a base layer of protection to disclaim your liability and make sure they understand where your responsibility starts and ends.

I’ve been using your DIY contract with all my clients and have found it so empowering, helping me to elevate both my standing and my confidence as an independent professional. During the pandemic, the contracts were key to helping me grow my roster of clients in need of a memoir coach. This Fall, I plan to reopen my home-based writers’ cooperative at christinewolf.com/writers-haven-evanston and I’m DELIGHTED to offer clients a waiver including all the things I’ve been worried about as I step back into offering in-person services …from COVID to the “typical’ emergency issues. Thank you again!
