When do I need an LLC?

Sooooo many people come to me with questions about LLCs. I know they can seem confusing.

Not sure when the right time is to create an LLC?

Not even sure what an LLC is? (Don’t worry, you’re not alone.)

Maybe you’ve heard that you could be putting yourself or your house – or your family! – at risk and you don’t even know that there are ways to keep them safer with an LLC.

Or, you just might be feeling the urge to “go pro” and get more professional with an LLC.

Maybe your intuition has been getting louder and louder and just “just know” it’s time.

That’s what happened with Jody.

Jody is a graphic designer who had been running her business for a while. It had grown quickly over the past year and she was feeling the nudge to create an LLC.

Only she didn’t know exactly what an LLC was – or how it would protect her.

She didn’t know how to create one and she knew she didn’t want to screw it up. As a graphic designer, details are important to her. She takes pride in doing things right – whether it’s creating a logo for a client or getting her legal documents in place– and she wanted to do it properly so she didn’t leave out any documents or steps without even knowing it.
