💸 Want an earnings disclaimer? It’s my gift to you!
I hope you’re having a great summer – enjoying the slower pace of life and soaking up the sun.☀️ Scott and I recently squeezed in a long weekend hiking at Lake Tahoe with friends. It was such a great summer trip! (And we found the BIGGEST pinecones I have ever seen!) 🌲
At the same time, all biz owners (including me!) are still thinking about their income…even while out hiking – or burying their toes in the sand at the beach.🏖️
So if you’re someone who helps OTHERS increase their income (or have better health so they have energy to run their biz)… here’s a BIG reminder for you…
You’re NOT responsible for your clients’ results.
Specifically, their financial results.
(You’re not responsible for their health results or any other kind of results either, but today I’m talking about financial results.)
You’re not responsible for your clients’ business outcomes, earnings or income.
Just because you work with a client, you’re NOT responsible for whether their income goes up or down afterwards.
Truly, you’re not.
How do you let your clients KNOW this so they don’t get confused and think you ARE?
Here’s one good way…
Legal Love Tip: Include an earnings disclaimer to say you’re not responsible for earnings or income as a result of taking your course or working with you.
Where can you get a simple earnings disclaimer?
🎁 Right here! Use this language…it’s my gift to you!
Earnings Disclaimer: Any earnings, income, or revenue shared is only an example of what is possible to achieve. Results vary for each person based on a variety of factors, so there are no guarantees that you will experience the same or similar results.
When should you use it?
In any of these places if you’re talking about a client having a big launch or increased income after working with you
➡️ Social media or your blog
➡️ Website
➡️ Zoom webinars
➡️ Podcasts or guest interviews
➡️ Client agreements and terms of use for your programs
➡️ Anywhere you’re talking about a client testimonial or sharing their results (Psst! Be sure to get their permission with a testimonial release like this one.)
How should you share it?
➡️ Written – on your blog or social media, etc. right next to where you share the client’s results.
➡️ Verbally – when talking on Zoom, in webinars, or in group settings, etc. either before or right after talking about results your clients achieve after working with you.
