What stopped me in my tracks
I’ve shared this story before, but it’s worth sharing again.
Marie Forleo always said you grow your business “one person at a time” by giving everyone lots of love and attention – so that’s exactly what I try to do.
Before I started B-School, I slowly built my business with 1-on-1 legal clients primarily via word of mouth. My first clients were mostly other Health Coaches who found me through our IIN Health Coaching school or various Facebook groups.
I knew that to create a sustainable business, I had to stretch from offering just 1:1 services to reaching many more people. I wanted to create an online course.
But, there was something stopping me dead in my tracks.
It was the scary monster under the bed that I was afraid to look at… and when I finally did, it looked like this….
Yes, ME. I was the scary monster under my bed.
My fears and me.
At the time I started to branch out, it was really, really scary for me to “get bigger”.
I was terrified of being VISIBLE.
No joke.
Visibility was totally my achilles heel. (It still is today, quite frankly.)
Even though I’ve been interviewed on over 250 podcasts and webinars, been interviewed on some of the top podcasts on Amazon and spoken on international stages, even today a big part of me still wants to hide under the covers and stay invisible. Can you relate?
One of the things that inspired me about Marie Forleo is that she created an incredibly successful course showing up as herself. Completely herself.
