The ripple effect.
Joshua Rosenthal, the founder of IIN, always talks about “the ripple effect” that health coaches are having in the world. How our actions and choices can help others to improve their health – little by little, like ripples in water. (Ooh! I love that imagery…)
We get into coaching because, bottom line, we want to make a difference. We want to help people improve their health or their quality of life, but for most of us, we aren’t prepared for the business side of coaching the second we step out of school.
Some days biz shizzle can make you feel like you want to quit.
Just like any other business out there, there is a learning curve to creating a successful coaching business. And engaging in “activity” does not necessarily equal “productivity”. Am I right, or am I right?
It takes the RIGHT kind of activity to yield the productivity, but most of us learn by trial and error. Or signing up for a bazillion programs that we never have time to do. Or talking with other coaches who are exactly where we are and finding out what they are doing and then muddling through creating a sales page or opt-in on our own…just like they did.
How do I know? Because I spent my first few years doing this too…(and I still do it now sometimes, truth be told).
There’s got to be an easier way.
And there is.
We can learn from the ripples of other successful coaches and entrepreneurs who are ahead of us but traveling in the exact direction of where we want to go.
I’ve said this before, but it’s so important to remember. We can so easily get distracted by… *squirrel!*
