Are you in business for yourself because it’s a part of creating your dream life?
I know I am! #absolutely
Most people don’t think of legal tips or legal documents supporting your dream life – at all.
Which is exactly why I wanted to share this Periscope video with you today on “What a Legal Contract Has to Do With Your Dream Life.”
I have been thinking and writing a lot about my dream life lately. (If you missed my last post on how I got clear about what my dream life looks like, click here to find out.)
Because here’s the deal:
When you are creating your dream life, it’s easy to forget to protect yourself and your biz at the same time.
Betcha didn’t know that legal documents support what you want for your business now AND in the future.
They help protect your income, your time and your energy, for starters.
Once you can protect your income, time, and energy, THEN you can actually have the space to create your dream life. #lawcreatesspace
So how do you do that?
First, get your Website Disclaimer in place.
If you have a website, make sure you have your Website Disclaimer up on your website to create base level protection for you.
Now I don’t mean a tiny little 2 sentence mini-disclaimer on the bottom of your website. What I mean is a big, robust disclaimer linked in the footer of your website that tells people what you do and don’t do and that overtly limits your liability (and so much more!)
Why? So that when people Google your website and check it out, it’s CLEAR as to what you do in your biz , so people don’t get confused and think you are doctor giving them medical advice on your blog if you are a Health Coach, for example, and you are simply trying to get them to drink more green smoothies. #greensmoothiesaregoodforyou
A Website Disclaimer is one of the first steps to protecting you AND your business as you create your dream life.
I tell all of my clients that once their Website Disclaimer is up on their site, the second most important step you can take is to have a Client Agreement in place if you work 1-on-1 with clients.
Next, use a Client Agreement.
Your Client Agreement is what helps you protect your time and money and what happens if someone misses a call or misses a payment.
Because when you get clear how to protect your boundaries with a Client Agreement:
- You won’t be working all the time
- You can make time for those manicures and pedicures
- You create time to go to your beach house that you never have time to go to
So whatever your dream life looks like for you, taking legal steps helps you to protect and secure your business so you can create the space in your life for all of those elements of your dream life you desire most.
Lucky for you, today is the LAST day that you can snag my #legallove gift to you! Just use the coupon code FREEDOM to save 30% on Client Agreements through 11:59pm ET.
Why am I gifting you with this coupon code to get YOUR Client Agreement in place? Because I want to support you in building a successful business and a dream life – and your Client Agreement will help you do just that!
Here’s to protecting your business and creating space for your dream life!
